RESPONSIBLE COMMERCE
Disciplined Compliance. Responsible Commerce.
Our Pillars
KYC/KYB Vetting
Sanctions Screening
AML / CTF Awareness
Know Your Customer (KYC) and Know Your Business (KYB) review helps establish the legal identity, ownership, authorized representatives, commercial purpose, and transaction capability of prospective counterparties.
Counterparty review incorporates applicable sanctions and restricted-party considerations as part of Pacific Rim's risk-based commercial due diligence and transaction review.
Pacific Rim incorporates Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF) considerations into its counterparty and transaction review practices, with particular attention to corporate identity, transaction legitimacy, documentation, and financial counterparties.
Corporate & Commercial Verification
Prospective counterparties are evaluated for legal existence, authorized purchasing or selling authority, commercial objectives, product requirements, and demonstrated capability appropriate to the proposed transaction. When additional information or clarification is needed, our team works with the counterparty to help identify what is required before the opportunity progresses.

Compliance Leadership
Pacific Rim maintains dedicated compliance leadership to support the Company's counterparty qualification, due diligence, documentation, and transaction-review practices. This oversight provides a consistent framework for corporate verification, KYC/KYB, AML/CTF considerations, sanctions screening, documentation integrity, and transaction-specific risk review.
Working alongside Pacific Rim's executive and commercial teams, the Compliance Director provides an additional level of review to help identify potential concerns early, strengthen documentation practices, and support informed, responsible decision-making as transactions develop.
Kevin Yates, Compliance Director
Kevin Yates serves as Compliance Director for Pacific Rim Petroleum Company, bringing more than 35 years of experience in fuel trading, logistics, and corporate compliance to the Company's counterparty review and verification functions. His background includes hands-on experience conducting and coordinating verification of fuel and storage at major petroleum ports and terminals, giving him direct insight into product representations, storage conditions, and the operational realities behind each transaction.
In this role, Kevin works alongside Pacific Rim's executive and commercial teams to support KYC/KYB, AML/CTF, sanctions screening, corporate due diligence, and documentation review. His fuel-trading background — including work with international suppliers, tank farms, and logistics partners — helps ensure that compliance and verification standards stay grounded in the practical realities of international petroleum transactions.
Documentation
The documentation required for a petroleum transaction depends on the counterparty's role, jurisdiction, product, and the structure of the proposed engagement. Pacific Rim works with prospective counterparties to identify the corporate and transaction-specific information appropriate to the opportunity.
Documentation is reviewed to support counterparty qualification, commercial alignment, and transaction-specific due diligence. If additional information, clarification, or supporting documentation is needed, our team will communicate those requirements and help the counterparty understand what is needed before the engagement progresses.

Additional transaction-specific documentation as required
Not every document is required in every engagement. Requirements are determined by the nature, stage, and structure of the individual transaction.

Shared Responsibility
Pacific Rim's review does not replace a counterparty's own due diligence. Buyers, sellers, and other commercial participants should independently evaluate the parties, transaction documents, banking instructions, product documentation, inspection arrangements, logistics providers, and contractual terms relevant to their transaction.
Counterparties should also obtain independent legal, tax, regulatory, sanctions, financial, or other professional advice appropriate to their jurisdiction and circumstances before entering into binding agreements or transferring funds.
We welcome reasonable verification questions and believe concerns are best addressed openly before a transaction moves forward.
Information Protection
Commercial relationships, corporate documentation, transaction information, and counterparty identities are handled with appropriate discretion. Sensitive information is shared only as reasonably necessary for qualification, due diligence, transaction evaluation, and execution, and subject to applicable confidentiality arrangements. We believe responsible information handling is an important part of protecting both the transaction and the relationships behind it.
Compliance Disclaimer * Pacific Rim's commercial due diligence and compliance practices are intended to support responsible transaction evaluation and do not constitute legal, regulatory, financial, or professional advice, nor do they guarantee the performance of any independent counterparty.
