Counterparty Qualification

Contract & Execution

Each engagement begins with an initial review of the counterparty, its commercial objectives, and its ability to perform. Qualified buyers may be asked to provide corporate registration information, company profile, KYC/CIS documentation, authorized signatory information, product requirements, volumes, delivery requirements, and evidence of financial capability appropriate to the transaction.

Once preliminary qualification is established, Pacific Rim works with the appropriate parties to define the commercial requirement, including product specification, quantity, delivery basis, destination, procurement schedule, and transaction structure. Required commercial documentation is then prepared or coordinated according to the applicable transaction pathway.

Before execution, counterparties are expected to conduct appropriate independent due diligence on the parties, transaction documents, banking instructions, product documentation, inspection arrangements, and other material elements of the proposed transaction.

Following successful qualification, commercial alignment, and due diligence, the parties proceed according to the applicable transaction documents and agreed procedure. Contract execution, financial performance, inspection, product delivery, title transfer, and settlement occur in accordance with the governing agreements and the responsibilities of the respective parties.

No two petroleum transactions are identical. Specific procedures, documentation, financial requirements, inspection protocols, and delivery structures vary according to the product, transaction, counterparty, and applicable seller or supply program. The framework below describes Pacific Rim's general approach rather than a fixed transaction procedure.

Commercial Safeguards

Integrity, Verification & Accountability

Pacific Rim maintains a disciplined approach to counterparty qualification, documentation, confidentiality, regulatory awareness, and transaction verification. We do not represent speculative product availability, unsupported allocations, or unverified commodity claims as executable transactions.

By establishing clear responsibilities, qualification requirements, documentation standards, and transaction milestones, Pacific Rim seeks to reduce unnecessary commercial friction and create a more transparent pathway toward execution for qualified counterparties.

Our Role

Principal When Appropriate. Facilitator Where Needed.

Pacific Rim's role is determined by the structure of each transaction. In certain transactions, Pacific Rim may act as a principal purchaser and seller of petroleum products, taking title for its own account before resale to qualified counterparties. In others, Pacific Rim serves as a commercial facilitator and coordinator between qualified buyers and independent suppliers, titleholders, refineries, platforms, and strategic energy partners.

When acting as a facilitator, Pacific Rim supports commercial alignment, counterparty qualification, documentation, and communications; however, independent sellers and titleholders remain responsible for their own product, title, pricing, procedures, delivery obligations, and contractual performance.
